This app is Aurasmic

Aurasma, the first visual browser, merges the virtual and physical world together to create an augmented reality. Aurasma, created by the Autonomy Corporation, is a free smartphone application available for iPhone4, iPhone4S, iPad2, and more powerful Android devices.  This application’s technology can recognize a static image, symbol, or object in the real world, understands it, and deliver content including video, animation, or sound to enhance and bring the object to life. On the application’s main screen, there are three function ...

Hit me Facebook, one more time…

Here we go again, Facebook. Once more, Zuckerberg changed up the profile layout for both individuals and brands. And by the looks of it, Timeline is here to stay.  Brand pages will automatically be switched to the new format as of today (3/30/12). I’m sure you’ve seen it by now, but if not here’s your guide to the new Timeline. The most obvious new feature is the Cover photo. This large banner-sized image at the top of each profile allows an individual or brand create a major visual focal ...

This post is über Pinteresting…

The month of March is the perfect time for me to start pinning items on my Pinterest account. Why, you may ask. This month represents the two year anniversary since it's launch date. To those who aren't yet aware, and by aware I mean addicted, Pinterest might seem like a similar platform to other social photo sharing websites such as Flickr. However, Pinterest also allows for connectivity, and not through people, but ...

Well, the madness of all the people, sessions, parties, and free stuff is over. We'll never know how we did it all - my only explanation is pure excitement and adrenaline - either way, hopefully this will give you a taste of what it was like. I would be lying if I didn't admit to sensory overload withdrawal since landing back in ATL, but by reflecting on the past 5 days I came up with the following list of 30 things ...

I've been saying it for years, and it is finally happening... I just didn't think it would be T-Mobile to make the first move. Today's release of Bobsled and CES in Las Vegas marks the moment that minutes and SMS packages beging to die, and wholly data-driven mobile communications are born. And to have a carrier make such a bold move on this direction is amazing. Basically this is a carrier-sponsored, device agnostic, cloud-supported love-child-app of a Facebook Messenger,

Vertbags’ Favorite Apps

The Vert team (AKA "Vertbags) works with apps and we still can't get enough of them on our phones! Finding cool new apps is one of our geeky hobbies, it also helps us stay on top of the latest trends in the industry. Our favorite apps change on almost a weekly basis, however, we wanted to share what is super cool in our app world this week. Kevin Planovsky: I am going to say Evernote (iOS |

Vert’s Quick Response on QR Codes

QR codes are all the rage right now. Seriously, they're everywhere and seemingly every marketer is trying to incorporate them into every marketing campaign possible. When executed properly, QR codes are very effective and sometimes downright awesome. Other times, they are not. They can be awkward and weird, and consumers have mixed feelings... To be on the safe side, I suggest sticking to some of these basic Do's and Do Not's of QR Codes. Do:Put QR Codes ...

“Smart Lists”, not for your Smartest FB Friends…

Facebook and I have a love-hate relationship. Sometimes I love seeing what my friends are up to, or discovering a great local deal or event. Then my mom finds an album from college and asks “what’s Edward 40 Hands?” - and I’m over FB again. The newly-revamped Friends Lists should help me maintain my love for the social media powerhouse. According to Mark Zuckerburg, only 5% of users currently take advantage of the Friends List feature – not surprising, since I’ve only ...

Now with over 10 million users and apps on iPhones, Symbian, Android, webOS, WIndows Phone 7 and Blackberry devices, I think it's safe to say that Foursquare, the location based social networking tool, is here to stay. At least President Barack Obama thinks so, since he recently joined on August 8, 2011.   But Foursquare is more than just "checking in" at your location, getting badges (whatever those really mean) and becoming mayor (I'm currently the mayor of Vert...just sayin'). It has grown its capabilities to include tips, specials, business pages and ...
